April Kay Vauss

April Kay Vauss began her career in education teaching English to middle school students in Morioka, Japan. She began teaching in the U.S. in 1997, and joined the Irvington Public School District in New Jersey as a math specialist in 2004. Vauss earned her second master’s degree, this one in administration, in 2009, and moved into administration at the district. In 2017, she earned her doctorate in superintendency from Oakland City University with dissertation honors in the top 1% of her class. She became superintendent of Irvington Public School District in April 2020. She can be reached at [email protected].
